Marv Merchants is a fictional character best known as one half of the "Wet Bandits" (later the "Sticky Bandits") in the Home Alone movies. Played by Daniel Stern, Marv is depicted as the taller, less intelligent of the two burglars.
His first appearance was in the 1990 film, Home Alone. He is partners in crime with Harry Lyme (Joe Pesci), and their criminal endeavors are repeatedly thwarted by Kevin McCallister (Macaulay Culkin), an eight-year-old boy accidentally left home alone by his Negligent Parents during the Christmas holiday.
Marv is characterized by his tendency to leave the water running after burglaries, earning him and Harry the initial moniker of "Wet Bandits." He also suffers numerous comical injuries due to Kevin's elaborate traps.
